Zamboanga, National Library forge Philippine elib program


Zamboanga City (27 August) — The City Government of Zamboanga and the National Library recently forged an agreement paving the way for the implementation of the Philippine eLib project, an e-government (electronic government) funded program that integrates the databases of the library holdings in a single portal. Mission

The Zamboanga City Library is one of the divisions of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. It serves as a repository of the printed and recorded cultural, historical, intellectual and literary heritage and other information sources of the country, ensures the preservation and conservation of these materials for the future generations. The Zamboanga City Library caters to general public, thus, services the pulic in many ways Free of Charge

  • To continue developing an adequate and updated collection of reading materials.

  • To provide information about its respective community-its resources, history, customs and tradition.
  • To develop a network and linkages among school libraries in order to facilitate research and reference needs of the patrons.

Objectives

To gather, organized, and service the collection of library materials: printed and non-printed, book and non-book, to support the community and the school's information needs.
