Watch Dogg Committee is considered a community, although they are scattered geographically, they have interests or goals that binds them together. To avoid confusion. Watch Dogg was founded 1985 as a brotherhood in Crown Heights, New York, U.S.A. 1995, Watch Dogg became a gang when most of it's members affiliated with the Bloods. 1996, Watch Dogg reached Los Angeles and became a mixed gang (with members from different gangs and groups). In Los Angeles, the word "Committee" was added to emphasize that Watch Dogg is a mixture of different members from different gangs. 1997, it reached the Philippines, it was first formed as a gang who sided with the bloods. This led to the conflict between Watch Dogg members who are not Bloods members. It was disorganized from year 1999-2001. 2002, Grupo tyanakkk, Lyrical minds INC, Flip Hop Society de Mindanao, and Gangstaz de Mindanao converted to Watch Dogg Committee. Thus, Watch Dogg Committee is not just a mixture of gangs but also hip-hop groups. Since most re-organizers are Hip-hop culture lovers, this the started why some misjudge Watch Dogg as a hip-hop group. However, Watch Dogg is not really a hip-hop group but an organization and a brotherhood higher than a gang lower than a fraternity. Its primary purposes are;

  • 1. Develop unswerving brotherhood & friendship (members help, protect, and aid each other).

  • 2. Past time comrades (meet new friends you can hang-out with, people you can trust, and you can have fun).

  • 3. Promote peace and unity (since Watch Dogg members are also members of different gangs, fraternities, and groups).

  • Watch Dogg Committee has about 300-500 members in the Philippines starting year 1997-2007.

Watch Dogg Bloods is a sub-group under Watch Dogg Committee.

In the Philippines, Watch Dogg Committee is organized by a "Supreme Committee". It is composed of officers from different hoods (Watch Dogg's term for a chapter) who exchange reports and updates of their respective hoods. The officers of the Supreme Committee are the Supreme Head Minister (president) , Supreme Assistant Head Minister (vice-president) , Supreme Chief Advisers (composed 20 to 15 active members or past officers from different hoods), and the Supreme Warden (disciplinary officer). In each hood or chapter, the group is led by the Head Minister ( spokesperson of the hood), Assistant head Minister, Chief advisers (composed of 4-5 active members of a hood, acts as advisers of the Head Minister), and the Warden ( incharge in initiations and assigned as a disciplinary officer) .

    Principles of Watch Dogg

    1. Once a watch dogg, always a watch dogg.

    2. Every Watch dogg must be true to the Watch dogg set.

    3. A Watch Dogg should protect eachother and protect the set and other brother sets forever (no matter what, when, and where). One for all, all for one.

    4. No Watch Dogg should hate or hurt a Watch Dogg at all times.

    5. Every Watch Dogg has the right to express and give opinions.

    6. No Watch Dogg should act superior to other members. Watch Dogg is a democratic community. Officers are chosen to lead the group and discipline the members as needed but not to act in haste or act superior. An officer can be replaced anytime by the power of its members.

    7. Every Watch Dogg must help and respect other groups especially those considered as brothers of Watch Dogg. Every Watch Dogg is encouraged to follow the rules, laws, and constitution of his country or his geographical location. To gain respect is to know how to respect.

    8. No Watch Dogg should reveal the secret codes and passwords of the Watch Dogg. What you learn from Watch Dogg, you keep it confidential at all times.

    9. Brotherhood, Friendship, Peace, Unity, Tolerance, Humility, and Equality are the virtues a Watch Dogg should hold within himself.

  • Brotherhood - the state of being brothers or a brother. A brother is one with whom you dare to be yourself. He accepts you as what you are. He seems to ask you to do nothing - only to be just what you are.
  • Friendship - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person. A friend provides kindly aid, help, assistane to a friend.
  • Peace - is a state of harmony, the absence of hostility. This term is applied to describe the absence of violence or
  • conflict. Peace can also describe a relationship between any parties or groups characterized by respect, justice, and goodwill.
  • Unity - the state or quality of being one.
  • Tolerance - the capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others.
  • Humility - the quality or condition of being humble. Being humble is someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others.
  • Equality - the state or quality of being equal. No one is above the other.

  • 10. What then is the obligation of a Watch Dogg?

  • Once you enter watch dogg, your obligation to aid, help, and protect a brother watch dogg starts. That time, their obligation to you also starts. Which means that each of us is obligated to each other as brothers. Together we stand, divided we fall.
