News Update 8-14-05
So here's the deal with things on the Rogue Set (RIP) front. I am now playing bass in Laydown Dancing. We are set to record some time in September. Ivy has decided that she would like to play drums in Sebestopol Rd., the project I am starting up. As it stands, it is her and I, and if we can find like minded people to play with us, that would be great. Until then, it will b e a two piece. I am pretty stoked about that.
Apparently there are rumors floating around the area as to why the band broke up. I personally feel like I am flogging a dead horse by bringing up the subject, but unfortunately it seems as though many people are content with going off of assumptions of what they think happened, and not willing to ask Ivy and I our perspectives on things. With that said, I would like to take this opportunity to dispell a few myths surrounding this debacle.
One thing I have heard is that I was scared to go on tour, and that I freaked out at the last minute. This couldn't be further from the truth. I have been on tour two times with the band, and have played out of town numerous times when we were not on tour. I am in no way, shape, or form scared to go on tour. It's important to play out of town, and amazing to meet new people, in new places.
As far as freaking out goes, again, nothing could be further from the truth. After playing the show (which I like to call the straw that broke the camels back) in Gainesville, we realized there was a difference in priorities between The two Daves, and Ivy and I. They were looking to accomplish different things than we were from the tour. We felt like it would be better to limp home with our tail between our legs, than to come out of this whole thing as enemies. With that said, it was a consentual decision on our part. Not me freaking out.
Hope this clears things up,
Anthony
