THE PRESENT TENSE

 

The present is now, the present is this moment, not a moment ago, not a moment later. It's NOW.

We don't usually need to talk about present, but sometimes we need to talk using the present tense.

the present is divided into "four" parts;

I read the example.

reads the book.

V or V + s (Habit or Fact).

1. The Present Simple.

I am reading the book.
he
is reading the book.
they
are walking.

am/is/are + V + ing (Now or Planned future).

2. The Present Continues.

I have done my homework.
he
has eaten the sandwich.

have/has +PP (Period from past to present).

3. The Present Perfect.

I have been calling the office.
he
has been reading the story.

have/has + been + V + ing (Activity from past to present).

4. The Present Perfect Continues.
