Some of the Projects we have been involved in

The Center for Children's Nutrition and Exercise (CCNE) at SUNY Upstate University Hospital has partnered with Samurai Scientific to create and analyze a database of clinical information including lab results and physiologic measurements.  Using more advanced algorithms than in Pleth Machine, the CDI is capable of inputting, organizing and analyzing the data from thousands of patients to assess the impact of being overweight on clinical parameters, and the effects of intervention.  The data-analysis cycle was cut to seconds for this project.

Since 2004 we have partnered with the Dept of Pediatrics division of Infectious Disease at SUNY Upstate University Hospital.  In order to analyze a large, complex database of data from a mouse model of childhood bronchiolitis, we developed a software package (Pleth Machine) capable of rapid data organization and analysis.  Our software shortened the data-analysis cycle from days or weeks down to a few minutes, enabling the group to rapidly focus on high-yield experiments.  Results created from this software package have contributed to several scientific works published or presented in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

From The Ground Up is a charity that treats and helps people with mental and physical disabilities using therapeutic horsemanship.  In 2006 we designed and implemented a software package (E-Quine Manager) to assist with rider registration at their annual horse show.  We helped reduce the total time to register every rider by 66% from the previous year, by semi-automating the process and creating personal schedules for every rider and rider-lists for every class for the announcers, judges and other volunteers.

We are nearly finished with our development of a patient-tracking software package for clinical trials.  The project was born from appreciating the practical difficulty of keeping track of hundreds of patients on several different clinical trial protocols.  PT-Racker is designed to operate with many different trial protocols and keep track of patient visits, telephone calls and keep patient logs, and avoid protocol deviations or violations from out-of-window visits, missed study procedures, etc.  We are actively looking for a partner to help develop this software in a real-life setting.

Aphevio is our ongoing project to create and develop a software suite capable of start-to-finish management of clinical trials.  We are working to combine the patient-tracking and reporting features of PT-Racker with the enhanced data entry and analysis features of CDI.
