THE BAND
As a disclaimer, all of this crap is made up. Or most of it. Also known as I don't know what I'm talking about, and made up the beginning stuff. So yeah. That's about it
So, nobody is really sure how the band started out. I know that the guitarist, Adam Blye, was really unhappy with the band that he was in, cuz it was emo. He and his friend, Fred, both liked ska, and were sick and tired of hearing all of that whining crap that is all over the radio these days. So, they stole a name that Matt Barry said was a cool name, and unwittingly took a name of a video game put out by Disney and made a ska band around 2000/2001. Fred's younger brother, JP, was a prime choice for a bass player, and Dave Klements was asked to join and play trombone. Also in the original lineup was Tenor Sax player Dave Nutting, but he eventually quit after a couple of years. So Dave needed to "recruit" a trumpet player for the band. God of the World, Tom Hunt, was asked, but politely declined (making one of the biggest mistake of his pathetic life). So Dave turned to his friend Nick Bradely, who hated ska and also said no. Brendan Ferrari was then asked, and he was overjoyed to play. Of course, it was later recognized that Brendan was a much better trupmet player that Tom is, but that's ok. They proceeded to do a couple of gigs, including one at Adam's college, Framingham State.
The band then made a gargantuan leap - they decided that Brendan would be a better singer than Adam was. So now, they were short one trumpet player, and Tom was again asked to join. He agreed this time. and Ruckus proceeded to write their first original song since the band was made (they were originally a cover band, covering popular songs such as Soul Man, Centerfold, The Boys Are Back In Town, etc.). The song, dubiosly called "One Of Our Own" was about the wonderful store, Andy's.
Since then, the band has been in high gear, producing several other original songs. They also started a merchandise store, which helped to contribute to landing a recording time to produce a CD sometime in late December. By the New Year, you may be able to listen to RoofToP RucKuS in your own home!
Oh yeah, and Matt is in the band. Just kidding Matt, we didn't forget you! Matt joined the band when Tom was in New York for the fourth of July. While he watched the Red Sox destroy the Yankees, Matt managed to learn all of the songs Ruckus did in about three hours, and play three shows in one day. On that fateful Fourth of July, Matt was officially in the band.
