You have reached the official web site for Pratale, a 100 hectare Italian open-house farm located in Umbria between the towns Perrugia and Gubbio. The Farm is owned by Etain Addey and Martin Lanz but the guest house was built by many friends. This web site explains how the environmentally friendly approach to farming works but is designed primarily to spread the open-house ethos and encourage travellers and holiday makers to visit. There is a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental balance, which means Pratale does without some modern technology (e.g. TV, phone, washing machine). This makes staying there a brilliant and unique experience.
Visitors are encouraged to work 4 hours each morning (8 euros/day all inclusive), although those who wish to read, paint, or simply relax in the beautiful surroundings are equally welcome but pay slightly more (13 eros/day). This includes all food and sleeping arrangements. All visitors welcome.
