Seung-Hui Cho Pekka-Eric Auvinen Kimveer Gill The Columbine Massacre

I've been really interested in the topic of school shootings ever since I read that the perpetrator of the Virginia Tech Massacre played violent game(s). This turned out to be nothing more than a lie, as the most violent video game he ever played was Sonic the Hedgehog. Although the media blames school shootings on violent videogames, I believe that the true reason may be that the shooters were bullied every day until they decided to end it all...with guns... Here's a list of school shooters, along with if they were bullied/if they played violent videogames.

Seung-Hui Cho was the perpetrator of the Virginia Tech Massacre. When the Virginia Tech Massacre first happened, there was a media frenzy to find out who/what was to blame and Miami attourney Jack Thompson pointed the finger towards the videogame Counter-Strike saying that violent games were to blame. Jack Thompson convinced many people that Cho played counter-strike, but further investigation proved that Cho wasn't a player of Counter-Strike and the only game anyone saw him play was Sonic the Hedgehog, a virtually non-violent videogame where you play the part of a blue hedgehog. More investigation lead to the discovery that Cho was the victim of bullies during much of his high and middle school life due to the way he spoke. You may be thinking: "There's no way that being bullied would make you want to kill someone...", but the evidence I'll present to you will hopefully make you see what I see... top

Pekka-Eric Auvinen was the perpetrator of a school shooting in Finland. There was an official police report (it wasn't in English) that stated that Auvinen was the victim of bullying for many years. There was no report confirming or denying that Auvinen played videogames of any sort. However, this does prove that regardless what country your in people who are bullied have gone on school shootings. top

Kimveer Gill was the perpetrator of the Dawson College shooting in Canada. Gill was, in fact, a player of violent videogames. Although his highschoool friends "certainly believe" that he wasn't bullied, he stated in his vampire freaks profile (that's no longer accesible) that he hated jolks/preps/bullies:
"Stop Bullying It’s not only the bully’s fault you know!! It’s the teachers and principals fault for turning a blind eye, just cuz it’s not their job. You fuckers are pathetic. It’s the police’s fault for not doing anything when people conplain (oops, my mistake, the cops are corrupt sons of whores, so it’s not like they can do anything about it.) FUCK THE POLICE It’s society’s fault for acting like it’s normal for people to be assholes to each other. Society disgusts me. It’s everyone’s fault for being so apathetic towards fucking everything that doesn’t affect them personally. FUCK YOU SOCIETY."

"I’m so sick of hearing about jocks and preps making life hard for the goths and others who look different, or are different. The other day on T.V. they were talking about this 15 year old kid that was killed by the cops, cuz’ he took a fake gun to school. Then they said he was emotionally disturbed and suicidal. Aaaaa, Duh!! If people were making your life a living hell wouldn’t you be hurt emotionally. How come no one ever talkes about those MOTHER FUCKING JOCKS AND PREPS who’s fault it is. Oh no. And the preps are no better, they think they’re better than others…………but they’re not. And all of society applaudes the jocks and preps. As if we are all supposed to be like them. The Columbine High School Massacre is one shooting shrouded in controversey. The largest part of the massacre happened in the library, where everyone was hiding under tables. Hower, it is indeed fact that both shooters played the games "Doom" and "Wolfenstein 3d", but I don't think that videogames are to blame because the shooters did not say things like "We want to imitate a videogame that we know is fake!!!" or "Stand up so that we can see a real-life version of the red pixels that drove us into a homicidal frenzy!!!" No, there demands were that "All jolks and people in white hats stand up!" (wearing a white baseball cap at Columbine was a tradition amongst sports team members) and everyone who goes or has gone to school knows that jolks are some of the biggest jerks in the world (if you don't believe me, go back to Kimveer Gill's section), so it can be assumed (knowing jolks typical bullying habits) that the shooting was an attempt to seek revenge for the years of bullying the two received and not an attempt to "play" a videogame. top
