    Bio:

Mike was born on May 4, 1972. His mother was a heroin addict, so he was sent to live in a foster home of a Native American mother and a white father when he was 6 weeks old. They later were able to adopt him. His adoptive parents split when he was seven years old, and he lived with his father for a while while his step-sister Myla lived with his mother. Conflicts between his parents sent him back to live with his mother, and reunited him with his sister. His mother remarried to another man when Mike was in 4th or 5th grade, though the two didnt get along for years. Later, when Mike's mom left them, Mike became close to his stepdad, though he died when Mike was 17. He joined Sweet Children with Billie Joe when he was 14, and moved in to Billie's garage when he was 15 because his mom decided to move out of the bay area because of finacial difficulties. Billie and Mike later moved into a warehouse with other members of the punk community (hence 'Welcome to Paradise'). He balanced Sweet Children, school, and supported himself by finding work as a cook. Mike became the only member of Green Day to graduate from high school (and finished over a years worth of work at a community college). The band left for their first tour tour the day after graduation.

Mike married his long time girlfriend Anastasia, and they had their only child, Estelle-Desiree (nicknamed 'Hero' by Mike because she is his hero) the next year. The couple divorced, but remain good friends. He remarried in 2004, however his wife left him because she thought that he was spending too much time with Green Day while recording American Idiot (she told him that she was leaving the day that they mastered the album). Mike is currently dating someone, and owns Ruddy's Can't Fail Café, which he named after a song by The Clash.
