I suppose you could say my love for country music began before I was even born, as both my parents loved country music, so much so that when I was young they began to run a Country & Western Club in Kent. The club was called Fort Worth and proved very popular. From and early age I would watch Artists and more often than not I would invite myself up on stage to join them. Still to this day I ask many long running acts whether they had ever played at Fort Worth and if they remember singing with a young boy. The reply is often quite amusing.

As time went on, like many clubs do, Fort Worth was forced to close and not long afterwards I moved north to Bolton with my father. I still enjoyed listening to country music but nothing really fed my passion. Following school I did various jobs but I yearned for something fulfilling.

We met some great friends at a local Pub who ran a Karaoke, they shared our love for country music, and encouraged me to sing. Their encouragement gave me great confidence, and when I met my girlfriend Amanda, I grabbed the perfect opportunity to show her a piece of the Country music atmosphere. We took her to Fort San Antone, Birchwood, and it was coming back here that made me realise what I had been missing. I missed the atmosphere, the people and the music.

With my family and my girlfriend supporting me all the way, I found a country guitarist looking to start a band. In a practice with him I was introduced to another guitarist called Neil. Following disappointment with the band, I found that Neil and I had sparked a good friendship and we decided give it a go as a duo. We worked well together and found we gave each other confidence. The name "Country Code" was thought of in an internet discussion along with a few other names. We began to send out demo tapes and get responses. It was through a fellow country artist (and good friend), Dave Read, that I was introduced to my now Manager Alf Roberts.

We had begun to build a good name for ourselves on the country circuit and with each gig came more confidence. However, this was to be short lived as Neil was forced to leave due family health problems. I was unsure of what to do, but with the support of my family, friends and girlfriend I decided to go it alone. I decided to keep the name as I felt it a shame to build it up and then let it drop, and also liked the idea of being slightly different.

Since becoming solo, I have traveled the country and made many friends along the way. Although my influence has always been Garth Brooks, my material varies right from George Hamilton IV and Merle Haggard, to Dwight Yoakam and Alan Jackson. I cater for all tastes and audiences, but wherever I am, I enjoy entertaining people and most of I love singing Country Music.
