REUTOFF (RUS) "ReuTRaum IV" 7"
This russian trio comes from a suburb of Moscow (called Reutov), and this, following some cassette-releases, is their vinyl-debut and first release outside of Russia. As one of the pioneers of the Russian industrial-scene REUTOFF create an ultra dark visionary music, using elements of ambient as well as rhythmic industrial. "WAILED", the A-Side, begins with atmospheric, but rather unpleasant samples & sounds, before harsh electronic beats come in; "VEILED" on the B-Side however, is a perfect example for the group's ability to build unsettled, sinister & creepy dark ambient industrial sounds, with an overall atmosphere of despair & deep melancholy, maybe mirroring today's "Russian soul". R.Y.N. (U.K) "Whistle and I´ll come to You" 7"
RYN is a relatively unheard British duo (with members also active in drone rock band MARZURAAN& harshnoise project ROMANCE) although they began musical productivity in early 2003.
Since that time they have amassed anextensive body of work (with few official releases) with this 7" being their first vinyl release. Their drone-style could be described as ritualistic "power-drone" with an emphasis on fusing the organic and mechanical. For this 7" solely field recordings were used, a break in style from their usual ambient wash of guitar generated drones. These energetic sound-sources build masses of heavy clouds in movement that flood your mind away.

TARKATAK (GER) "Skärva" 7"
First full-lenght E.P. of a quite unknown german project, which only appeared on 3 cassettes so far and on a split-7" with DEEP. TARKATAK uses synths and other electronic devices, the music is slow & dull, non-impulsive and dream-like. Very low rumblings, dark harmonies, some subliminal & dense backwards-effects, this is sensible "archaic music" which could be easily compared to old Zoviet France and the likes. Another Mind-Drone. WÄLDCHENGARTEN (GER) "The Leech" 7"
WÄLDCHENGARTEN is a danish duo from Aarhus that could be best described as “noise ambient” or “raw / harsh drone” in what they do. After some already very promising releases (i.e. a CD in the Desolation House-series of Relapse Recs) this is their very first vinyl. Their music on #The Leech# is very raw and filled with tiny noisy outbursts, at the same time ultra-sluggish & powerful. Low whistling feedback & pure electronic whirl-tones are omnipresent, everything seems to gradually sink to an alien center of heavy gravity like an organic entity that is slowly sucking energy while everything around is pulsating and rumbling in menacing cascades... this is dark, but its a darkness of sheer beauty. 5,5E/7,5$.
