AUBERGE LE FESTIVAL

If you are a traveller with a yearning for adventure ,a sense of fun and a wish to escape the humdrum of mainstream tourism , then come and explore Le Festival.

      L e Festival , auberge restaurant camping ,is located in the heart of the Todra gorge in an exceptionnally middle of no where spot .The mountains of High Atlas surrounding it are as attractive as a tanned woman’ s body.

      Being there gives you the impression of  living  in a world of absolute tranquility ,of no  pollution , and no stress and hastle .

      The auberge itself is local-stone built , making it blend to its surroundung mountains .It contains 6rooms , of which 3 are ensuite ones .It contains also and most impotantly 5 troglodyte rooms with shower and toilet facility inside for your unique experience.These are naturally air-condutioned for either a dream-free or a wonderful sleep

The restaurant in Le Festival is serving food à la carte .A fixed menu is to be expected for groups of more than 5 people

Besides , Le Festival does a number of interesting  , and diverse activities:  paths for walking in middles of nowhere , climbing routes for either beginners or trained rock climbing ,and trekking.

       From where the auberge stands two main paths start . The 4 and a half hours walk goes to the next village called Tamtatoucht via strikingly beautiful natural  landscape. The path passes by a spring where nomads water their sheep a goats , by nomad berber families who will very probably invite you for tea then be able to see persisting  premetive way of life . Once you get Tamtatoucht , another 2 hours’ walk back to Le Festival  is to be expected  unless you can wait  untill the  mini-bus coming back from Imilchil which gets Tamtatoucht round 5 in the afternoon

The second 5hour path is meant for  energitic people .It is much more interesting than the first simply because it allows you to injoy unlimitted  breathtaking  views .Once ou reach the top of the mountain and before you head down to the crowdy  touriste spot of  the gorge, you pause for a while to relax and enjoy the awesome views again .If you get there before the sun rises , you will see  a sun-rise as beautiful as in the dunes.

         The first path do not actually need a guide as it is paint marked ,whereas the second  though marked needs guiding.

          As to climing ,Le Festival hires ropes and other means for rock-climbing . It  not only sells a topographic guide for the whole climbing spots available  in the gorge,  but also provides you with a guide for this growing famous activity.Closeby the auberge Le Festival , you find a range of 25 equipped sectors,of which 4 for beginners.

Le  Festival also organises short and long trips on mules’ back. Trekking may last as long as customers wish or plan .Sleeping in-between destinations is possible . The price of a day and night trip, food  ,mule and guide included, is 500DH per person.Of course the price will decrease  according to number of people and to number of days of trekking
