Atlanta international event

There were a successful week of meetings, followed by the first ever international tournament. The international organisation are now called Football International Powerchair Football Association (FIPFA). There are now also zones organised by continents. The main changes to the international rules are as follows: 13" ball, on dead ball kicks - opposing players must be 5m from the ball, penalties - taken 3.5m from the line, goalkeepers may move up or down the line (providing their front wheels remain on the goal line), other than that, goalkeepers must remain stationery and face forwards. Well done to our Wheelchair Football Association members who were voted into executive committee positions. The week was finished with an international tournament. It finished as follows: 1st - France, 2nd - Japan, 3rd - England, 4th - USA, 5th - Canada, 6th - Denmark. The scores are as follows: England 0-4 France, England 0-1 Japan, England 2-1 USA, Canada 0-1 England, Denmark 1-8 England. Well done and congratulations to all players. All of the player of the match awards were won by ASPIRE Hotspur players. Nicky Baker v France and Japan, Jonathan Bolding v Denmark and Stevie Pearson v Canada and USA.
