The American Karate Institute, Inc. is located in Hamilton,NJ. It teaches a unique style, "Way of the Sphere," developed by Dennis Dwyer and his father Bill. The system was developed so that anyone of any size, physical development, or age could learn to defend themselves in an effective manner. The style is also taught at a local YMCA as well as by Dennis in Seattle, Washington.

Besides the karate classes, the school also teaches the "Women's Street Survival Seminar" and the "Safe from Strangers" classes for young children.
