On occasion, a few members of a larger musical group come to find one another's sensibilities so stimulating and mutually satisfying, on both an artistic and a personal level, that they soon start actively creating further opportunities for collaboration. TRIO AMMENTOS was born from such a happy circumstance. After having played together on various projects, these three instrumentalists resolved to embark upon a new collective musical adventure, bringing to fruition their shared passion for post-modernist neo-Romantic composition, their talent for deeply emotional, highly charged interpretation (particularly manifest in their live performances) and their penchant for "non-classical" rhythm schemes. The quest for ever more evocative sonorities is the trio's driving motivation, guiding them in the choice of new material (all original) as well as throughout the meticulous arranging phase. The soloistic aspect, while important, is always placed, functionally, at the service of the ensemble sound, thus affording novel, varied textures from the interplay of the three instruments. At the same time, the gift for both individual and collective improvisation which distinguishes these musicians (and for which they are held in great esteem by colleagues) freely permeates their every performance. One may define the music of TRIO AMMENTOS as a perfect blend of classical atmospheres with those of contemporary "world" and jazz, a natural, evolutionary encounter among forms of musical expression all too often forced to ignore one another due to stereotyping and pigeonholing. This music is the simple, pure essence of shared artistic experience and vision allowed to filter through unfettered instinct.

TRIO AMMENTOS has recorded three CDs:. The first, "Ammentos" (Velut Luna, 2004), received rave reviews from major Italian trade magazines such as Jazzit, Musica Jazz and Audiophile. The second, "Midsummer Night In Sardinia" (Rai trade 2005), features American guitarist Al Di Meola. The new CD, entitled "remarkramer" (Velut Luna 2006) and dedicated to pioneering Italian accordionist and composer Gorni Kramer, has just been released.´
